The U.Dance National Festival is back

The U.Dance National Festival 2021 is set to take place from 16–18 July. It is a free weekend of streamed dance masterclasses, showcases, careers talks and information sessions for young people, engaging the best dancers and dance leaders to share their skills. Following the  success of the online U.Dance National Youth Dance Festival in 2020, One Dance UK is once more holding the festival in an online format to engage young dancers with a wide range of content.

Dancers can expect professional masterclasses in a wide range of dance styles, featuring artists from the UK’s leading companies, dance and writing challenges, industry and career information sessions with practical advice and tips from leaders in their field, showcases and much more. This celebration of youth dance is aimed at dancers aged 11-19 years - up to 25 for disabled young people - and their teachers and group leaders.

Presented by One Dance UK, the U.Dance National Festival usually invites groups selected from U.Dance Regional Platforms to experience a summer celebration of dance. During this unique event, groups perform on the biggest stages, take part in workshops with leading dance professionals and are offered inspiring dance careers information.

Regional Platforms, which take place across the UK, offer exciting performance and workshop opportunities to thousands of young dancers each year. Regional Platforms are hosted by a network of partner organisations and take place each spring, showcasing the talents of the region’s young dancers.

These are performances presenting dance work featuring children and young people from more than one school or group, in communities up and down the UK. Most local youth dance performances and platforms can be registered as a U.Dance Local event, subject to meeting eligibility criteria.
